Women's Moon Circle

Every six weeks or so, following the Celtic Wheel, we meet at 9am on Greystones South Beach. Our circles usually fall on the new or full moon as well as dates of astrological importance.

These circles are free to attend, and aim to be completely democratic in their participation - featuring local yoga teachers and sound healers as well as artists, craft makers and anyone with something they'd like to offer.

Our ancestors followed the lunar and solar cycles of the cosmos very carefully, and, acknowledging the common nature among all things, believed that life began in darkness, therefore the Celtic new year falls on Samhain (1st Nov). From there the wheel turns towards the shortest day, the Winter Solstice (Dec 21st), where we begin to imagine and nurture the seeds for the year ahead, slowly and softly emerging at Imbolc (1st Feb), six weeks later.  The next phase of the wheel of the year imbibes a gentle yet steady rise of the masculine energy of action and creation towards the true triumph of light over dark, at the Spring Equinox (21st March).  The energy and life force continues to rise within us and all of nature as we head towards the third fire festival of the year, Bealtaine (1st May) and hurtle towards the heady, intoxicatingly longest days of the year, at the Summer Solstice (21st June). SIx more weeks of high energy, colour, sights, sounds and productivity lead us to the harvest time of Lughnasa (1st August), and we again begin the descent back towards the Autumn Equinox (21st September) and on to the darkness and inner retreat of Samhain once more.

Join us by the fire and the sea as we celebrate each and every one of these dates, weaving the gatherings around the full and new moons, taking cues from the natural world all around us, and transforming our troubles through the collective wisdom of sharing in circle.

You are welcome to bring anything you'd like to share - a poem, a song, a craft, movement, food or drink, or equally just come as you are - you are more than enough.

Please contact us for the next gathering date and time.
